READ A BIT OF MY STORY, AND CONSIDER LETTING ME TELL YOURS.

MY STYLE

Photography for me is more than a job, it's a life style. I live and breathe luxury and creative  imagery. My passion lies with bespoke and creative weddings, candid portraits, natural children's portraits and unique pet photography. I also do creative landscape photography in my spare time. Hand editing is such a big part of photography, it can really make or break an image - only have of the story is told in the camera and I enjoy it almost as much as photography itself. I'm known to spend hours in my digital darkroom, much to the annoyance of my family.

My style and approach to photography is a candid and relaxed reportage style, with a good bit of creativity thrown into the mix. I love a posed photoshoot, but for me, posed shots have to have a great deal of emotion behind them so that they feel natural - not staged. I love to follow my instincts during a shoot, because it's often the unconventional angles and approaches that produce the best images. Posed shoots with me aren't perhaps as conventional as most photographers - I like to insert an element of emotion and passion into each photoshoot, so posed shoots are never as 2D as you may think with me.

I pride myself on capturing real moments, not just fake smiles that don't reach the eyes. I'm a photographer. I freeze tiny snippets of time and capture them on digital film, and I don't want those moments in time to be soulless and emotionless. Each photo has to tell a story for it to mean something to me.

I love to edit in both black & white and colour, and I'm comfortable working with them both. Some images work better as black and white, it can really highlight emotion and help to subdue distracting elements in the background, making the viewer look closely at your subject. Some images work better in colour - showing off the vibrancy of certain hues and highlighting the beauty of certain colours. Taking the photograph is only half of the story. The rest of the tale is told with powerful editing software and a good pinch of skill.

MY WORK

I work in a polite and discreet way, creating a friendly and fun atmosphere so that my clients are relaxed around the camera, that way I can capture those subtle emotions and nuances that tell your story. I'm bubbly, confident and assertive, yet I'm also unobtrusive, relaxed and friendly. My personality is the perfect combination for a photographer. During a posed photo shoot, my confident side really shines through, yet when I'm working on a candid project, I'm subtle and unobtrusive in such a way that I can capture the moments that you don't even realize happened. These sorts of shots are often a clients favourite from the photo shoots. My favourite type of photo shoot or wedding is a mix of candid and natural shots with a few glamorous fashion style posed shots thrown in.

Those blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments are the ones that we all cherish, and they're the ones that I aim to get. I think emotion goes a long way towards turning a photo from a snap shot to a great shot.

During photo shoots, once the formal portraits are aside, I like to work in a candid way, letting the events unfold naturally and capturing the raw and genuine emotions with minimal intervention. Usually, all it takes is a little gentle direction to capture creative and beautiful portraits. The best portraits usually come from when a subject isn't even looking at the camera, and they are oblivious to my presence.

I have previous experience working with children, adults, pets and even horses! I'm very experienced working with children with special needs - I've shot several weddings that included children with special needs and I'm very experienced with how to deal with various mental and physical disabilities. I've grown up around children and elderly people with special needs - so you can be assured that if you have someone special to you who needs a little more time than most, then I understand completely and I'm more than happy to devote extra time and attention to those amazing people that fill our hearts with so much love. I also have completed various health and safety in the workplace courses, first aid and fire safety in the workplace courses in the past.

MY past & future

On a photoshoot with me, I want my clients to relax, have fun and be at ease around me and my camera, and create beautiful memories that clients will cherish for generations. My ultimate aim with all of my clients is to capture a moment in time that perfectly expresses the emotions and memories of each individual occasion. Each photo has to have a message. Ultimately, a photo is a memory, and it's my job to capture the moments which reflect the emotions that you want to remember.

From the very first time I used a digital camera, I was a natural, and I loved the way you could freeze a moment - a special memory or a particular emotion - captured to cherish forever. I still look back at my amateur photos and amaze myself at how well I did when I didn't even know what I was doing!

After over a decade of amateur photography, I got my first "real" camera in 2013. After a few years, I wanted to have my skills officially awarded on paper so I decided to do some qualifications to prove how far I had come since the first time I picked up a camera. I went through some advanced heavy courses that proved to me that photography is the passion in life that I'd been searching for throughout my school years, and completing my qualifications was a great achievement in my life - I was so proud to be able to have the proof of my knowledge and skills, and to have all those years of hard work officially recognised and awarded and on paper was something I needed to do for myself.

I'd always regretted not choosing photography to study at college or university, and the further I got into my professional career, the more I regretted that choice. I waited so long to do my studies after falling in love with photography that it was hard to manage time when I was working as a full time wedding photographer and doing my qualifications at the same time, I often worked from the moment I got up to the moment I went to bed, but I don't regret it for one minute - it was something that I needed to do for myself as I was so happy that I'd finally found my passion in life. So, to cut a long story short, after a decade of amateur photography and then deciding to go pro, I've now had 5 years of experience doing professional photography, and I have over 15 years of experience of photography altogether.

I completed three degrees - in Photography, Photo Editing and Wedding Photography. I love to expand and improve my skills; I constantly keep up with the newest techniques and editing styles as soon as they hit the market. The advantage to continuously learning even after I've finished my qualifications is that I don't end up "stuck in a rut" like some photographers can. I'm modern, creative and I try to keep my photography on trend whilst keeping my photos timeless so that in years to come they will still look amazing. I love to learn, and learning new fresh to the market techniques is what helps set me apart from other photographers and keeps my photography skills improving year after year.

Wedding photography is a unique combination of every type of photography that you can think of - from fashion to portrait, from architectural to family, from children to documentary - knowledge of all these different types of photography is required in order to be able to properly shoot a wedding and master the large umbrella of knowledge that is wedding photography.

My ultimate goal in my career is to be the best photographer that I can possibly be - for myself, for my clients and for the beautiful memories that I capture that enables them to be cherished for an eternity. There's nothing more satisfying than knowing that your photos will bring so many people joy throughout their lives, and throughout the generations to come. You only have to take a look through my portfolio to see how much I love my work as a wedding photographer.

Some of my favourite moments where when I got published in The Times, The Mail Online, The Guardian and The Daily Mail. In 2018, I entered my first wedding photography competition and won it - I was awarded photo of the week by Bride Magazine - this was a very proud moment for me as it was the very first competition I have ever entered.

I've also been featured on several wedding blogs and websites, including photographers, lets get weddy, tie the knot, guides for brides and bride book, and I've even had Nikon themselves like some of my posts on social media, which was lovely for me as I'm a Nikon photography equipment devotee!

MY LOCATION

I cover all of Norfolk, as part of my home territory, but I also travel to Suffolk and Cambridgeshire for photo shoots. I own my own vehicle which is fully insured and covered for business use. I actually love driving, so I have no qualms about long drives to photo shoots, in-fact, I enjoy it! I love living in Norfolk. I'd never move away from such a beautiful area and I feel truly blessed to have grown up around so much beauty. I live just outside of Norwich, in a quiet little village called Salhouse. I wouldn't change a thing about it. Living right next to the heart of the Norfolk Broads is amazing. It's a dream come true. There's no doubt that growing up in such a beautiful area has had an influence on my love of photography. To find out if I travel to your area, please contact me.
