Here is a trio of behind the scenes images to show some insight into my work, and how I pose a person for an image! I use a few tried and tested methods to keep subjects looking natural and beautiful and this is a perfect example! This is the set of images behind the finished "album ready" shot on the bottom of the infographic! We have had a laugh and some jokes, resulting in a really natural smile and a candid "just finished laughing" face with a sparkle in the eyes, the finished result is a beautiful image with a very real smile that reaches the eyes versus the stiff posed picture at the start of the infographic! 

I hate stiff posed images - this is a perfect example of how I work my subjects - even posed shots have real smiles, real laughs and real emotions behind them! I love this set of images, it captures my shooting style perfectly and it allows you a glimpse into my natural and candid shooting style! Norfolk wedding photography without the "Say cheese!"... Even some of the best wedding photographers around Norfolk and Suffolk seem to have trouble with authenticity of their subjects within photos, so I make my number one priority when shooting authenticity and emotion. I try my absolute hardest to ensure that your wedding photographs are natural, candid and authentic to my subjects. I do offer complete posing and guidance to those of you who absolutely fear being in front of a camera and I have seven years of experience doing so, so we will get some great images and I will help you feel totally comfortable around the lens within a few minutes, I promise! Your wedding photography will fly by on your wedding day, as when you're relaxed and enjoying it, it never drags on like a chore and you should never feel like that on your wedding day!

Also, to those of you who don't like being posed, look no further! I actually really enjoy shooting in a natural and candid documentary wedding photography style way and I encourage every couple to have some documentary style moments where possible as it produces some really great natural sparkly glamorous photos where you have those twinkles in the eye as the camera catches the eye! I am known for making couples talk to each other - shock horror - so be prepared to catch a moment or two with your spouse to be just so I can catch a few natural smiles and laughs for the album! I love to find all the glitzy party shots and the glittery twinkly lights in the background in the evenings - we all love those party shots, they're so hard to resist!

I like my subjects to be laughing, having fun and enjoying their time behind the lens of my camera, that way, natural emotive genuine images follow naturally and you get some real genuine emotions behind a photo. Posing people can be a little stiff and although it's helpful for people who want the guidance, it's also helpful to have people laughing because then you get some really great photographs that they will cherish for a lifetime versus some stiff posed pictures that they will hate and only look at once!

I have several techniques that I use to get people of all ages laughing if things are looking a little stiff like they are in the photo at the top left of the infographic here.

There's always something to get you giggling no matter what your age is! I love banter, good jokes and people with a great sense of humour, that way it's easy to get great photos and genuine emotion into a face, so if you hate the traditional "say cheese" sort of stuff, you've found the right person to photograph your wedding!

Can you tell me about your career as a wedding photographer?
I've been shooting and playing with cameras and editing since I was 15, so I've been shooting for over 16 years in total now! That makes me feel old!! I went full time as a professional photographer and started my business "Sarah Brooksby Photography" in 2015 and I finished both of my photography degrees in 2017. I've been published over 40 times internationally, I'm an award winning and critically acclaimed photographer who continues to be published worldwide to this day. I still have a physical copy of the very first newspaper that I got published in - The Daily Mail - it's displayed in my office to this day even if it's going yellow now! The most recent publication I've been in was November 2021 in "Shutter Up" Magazine, a teaching & coaching magazine for other photographers.

What other types of photography do you do aside from wedding photography?
When I'm not working as a wedding photographer, I work in my Norfolk Photography Studio and I shoot newborn photography, portrait photography, family photography, equestrian photography, pet photography, engagement photography, Instagram campaigns, event photography, vow renewals, christenings, business, events and much more! When I'm not wrangling people for confetti shots or getting down low on the dancefloor to capture that perfect memory, I'm busy as a general lifestyle photographer around Norfolk and Suffolk.

How long have you been a wedding photographer?
I started my photography business in late 2015 and I learned from other wedding photographers and professionals before I shot my first solo wedding in early 2016. I caught the bug at my very first wedding and I've been shooting them ever since! I'm now a full time wedding photographer with an ever growing diary and I'm barely able to handle the amount of weddings that I get each year.

Do you travel for weddings?
I do, and I actually love driving to weddings as it gives me loads of time to think about the day ahead on the way and to mentally prepare myself for my role as a wedding photographer, I actually really enjoy the drives! A lot more thought goes into each wedding album than you may think so I relish the time at the start of the day to get my creativity in order. When I'm not travelling, I have actually been known to take an hour to just sit and mentally plan out the day when I can see the lighting and weather on the day. I am based in Norfolk but I cover all of East Anglia and beyond. Locations I regularly cover wedding photography at include Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex, London, Lincolnshire and beyond. Depending on where your wedding is in the UK and which package you choose, there may be fuel charges but I do not charge for my travel time to your special day.

Do you offer elopement wedding photography?
I certainly do, if you're looking for a UK based creative elopement wedding photographer, please email or call me with the details of your wedding photography requirements, the location, the date and times. Due to the extensive work & time involved in elopements they are subject to their own pricing so please get in touch for a custom quote.

Can you do our engagement photo shoot as well as our wedding photography?
As part of my wedding packages I offer a free engagement photography session designed to allow us to meet up and discuss your wedding before the big day itself! I was having a lot of trouble getting my couples to meet me before the weddings but I soon realised that offering a free photo session incentivised people to meet me beforehand! These sessions are designed to be short to allow us plenty of time to discuss the wedding afterwards in the booked slot. The sessions include 3 free images with the option to upgrade if you desire more. These sessions are image and time limited to keep costs down as they are free promotional sessions to encourage clients to meet up, get more comfortable around my camera and to become more comfortable with me as a person and my working style - it's a great chance to see how much help you need with posing and guidance, and to test your skin, hair and eyes for editing styles, Sessions can be upgraded for a fee to allow you more time and images. Free sessions are subject to availability and cannot be redeemed during busy periods. Free sessions are at the photographers discretion and they have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for other services or items. They must be redeemed at least 3 months prior to the wedding to qualify and there's no monetary value to exchange or refund if you do not claim it as it is a free session. Travel charges apply outside of my home territory. To get the best photography on your wedding day, I always advise having an engagement photo shoot as it ensures that we get a chance to make you both relaxed around my camera before the special day itself, ensuring that you feel relaxed and comfortable on your wedding day during your wedding photography!

Do you offer proposal photography?
I do and I have had several proposals over the years and they all went very well! I am yet to experience a "no" to a wedding proposal, so take that as good luck or good odds! I offer full fixed price proposal photo shoots with all of my usual printed items available, including USB, 6x4 prints, 7x5 prints, canvas prints and more.

Do you do close up shots of the wedding rings?
As a part of your wedding photography I will always get close up shots of your wedding rings, we can even go one step further and we can remove your wedding rings and place them on surfaces, flowers and fabrics to show off your wedding bands and engagement rings if you wish. Please let me know if you would like detailed close up shots of your ring on your wedding day and we can arrange for a small chunk of time during the wedding schedule to be set aside for the ring shots!

Do you offer post wedding trash the dress photo shoots?
Absolutely! I'm offering greatly discounted rates on these as they're something that I'm struggling to get anyone within the UK to do! They're rare, but so fun! As your wedding photographer I would be delighted to offer you a post wedding photo shoot and anyone interested in this great trend should get in touch as soon as possible after your wedding photography ends to re-save the date! It's always best to do this in the warmer months but it can be a great way to create more memories of your wedding - and a really creative way to show off your wedding dress giving you some creative and fun wedding dress images to upload to social media! I offer the prints and services of an expensive photographer, but low and behold, I don't charge the same as I don't believe it's fair to put extreme mark-up on photography just because the word 'wedding' is in it! What if we need you to stay longer on our wedding day?
Even the some of the best wedding photographers in Norfolk & Suffolk put time limits on your wedding packages so if you're looking for a wedding photographer with the best policies on wedding times, look no further. The entire day is booked out in the business diary for your wedding so if you need me to stay longer on the day than you originally thought then that's no problem and I'm always happy to stay longer, however, after the end of your paid package, there is an hourly charge at my current rate for this to cover the extra time in the office processing and editing the extra photos that were taken after the end of your package. This hourly charge is set at the same standard wedding photography rate for everyone. This ensures that there's no nasty hidden fees and you know that you're paying a rate that's fair and calculated to cover the business & photograph editing costs, not to earn extortionate amounts of profit from your wedding day! I always feel that wedding photography should be affordable and accessible to everyone, and that includes any extra time needed on your wedding day - enjoy cutthroat rates and reasonable prices that are designed to cover the costs rather than to fill up the profit pots because the word 'wedding' is included in the quote!

What can we expect on the day when booking you as our wedding photographer?
I work in a relaxed documentary style, posing and guiding people where it's needed or wanted. Don't fear that I'm one of those stiff types of documentary wedding photographers that won't get involved at all or be constructively creative, because I've got it all covered. If you're not so confident with posing I'm always happy to offer complete guidance where it's needed and I'm very experienced at posing bodies to look good! If I see you drowning in front of my lens - I will jump in and save you and help direct you. Don't think that I'll ever leave you to panic or to feel awkward - and you can always ask me for some help if you need it, it helps that I'm super approachable! ! I will also jump in and ask you to pose for a photo occasionally when I see the opportunity for a great creative photograph but don't worry, this doesn't mean that we have to do cheesy stuff. I do offer help when doing the guest group shots and these are posed to a certain degree as either you or I will arrange the people in a visually pleasing manor. I try to keep everything natural even when it's guided as I like every image to have a real memory. I'll definitely be there to grab you over the day to take you to beautiful locations that I've spotted and I'll ask you to stand in certain places, or to look at the camera at times. I will also step back throughout the day and ask you as a couple to talk to each other, poke, prod, tickle, make each other laugh, cuddle, kiss and to as hard as it is - to try and forget that I'm there and to have some private moments with each other as these candid shots can be some of my bride and grooms absolute favourite shots after the weddings as they capture their essence as a couple - the natural twinkles in the eyes, the romantic looks, the sparkles in the eyes and the smiles that you only do for your beloved.

We don't know what images to ask you for
If you don't know what you want from your wedding photography, I've got you. If you feel a little lost about what to ask for, I've got you covered. I've been a full time professional wedding photographer now for nearly eight years and almost all of the best wedding photographs that I've taken are unplanned and unscripted so if you're not sure what to ask for from your wedding photographer, do not fear, I find the clients favourite images come from the creative eye rather than any written lists. I work weddings with no set brief in a relaxed documentary style because I've been a wedding photographer in Norfolk & Suffolk for so long now that I've learnt exactly what my couples expect from both me and their wedding album and I'm constantly being thanked because the couples didn't know that they wanted half of the things that I did on the day - why would they - they don't do this for a living!

Will you capture all of the wedding images that we want?
People find that I capture more than they ever imagined that I would and that's exactly how I like it to be - I am to please, I always give everything 110% and I'm a master at performing under pressure or in stressed situations. Each couple is unique and so is their love story. They deserve to be told as such. I don't do set routines or repetitions, there's no repeats of someone else's wedding day. Each client gets me fully present in the moment, working to tell their story in the most beautiful way possible. I don't do off days or bad moods - I am a machine when it comes to weddings and I could photograph them in my sleep - I literally live, breathe eat and sleep weddings!

How do we know that our wedding images will come out good?
I know exactly when to get the creative shots, when to take candid natural images, when to capture the party and when to guide or pose people to get that perfect shot. I really do go the extra mile - I never do things by halves and I always go the extra mile to get the creative shots and best angles. I want everything in your wedding album to be truly breath-taking with every image a showstopper worth printing. I take so much time and love over that I do and I think that really reflects in my work - I have a genuine passion for weddings and I'm naturally creative - I think outside of the box and I see the angles others don't.

What images will we get in our wedding album?
You can expect wedding photos including images taken before the wedding ceremony, photographs of the wedding ceremony itself, album shots of the rings, the first kiss during your wedding ceremony, images of your guests in formal group shots, the couple alone in the wedding venue grounds, wall worthy couple portraits for you to print, your wedding cake cutting, your wedding speeches, your first dance, the candid sparkly moments, the best portraits of your guests, the best portraits of yourself and your new partner, the glamour, the styles, the event dressing, the venue, bridal photographs the wedding dress, gowns, suits, ties, bow ties, flowers, the bouquet and boutonniere, glamorous bridal portraits, dapper groom photographs, the natural belly laughs, the happy tears, the evening party, the first dance, and everything in-between! For the best wedding album, candid and natural shots are a must! as those are the images that tell the story of the wedding day itself. To allow you to get the best wedding pictures for your album, I work at 110% at all times to ensure that all of the special moments from your wedding day are covered in your wedding photograph album. I will capture moments you had never even thought of - I am so often told that there's so much in wedding albums that people didn't even know to ask for, or didn't know that they wanted themselves

Are you a secret ninja cross wedding photographer?
Despite common beliefs by clients and wedding guests, I am sadly not a ninja, although I am the closest you will find to a wedding photographer cross ninja! I am often applauded for my acrobatics and it's frequently mentioned how nimble, agile, fast and energetic I am whilst shooting! I love to shoot from the floor as it gives the most amazing luxe angles and it's super flattering with big wedding dresses! I'm always looking for the best angle, for the most creative shot or for the most flattering side and this means that sometimes I do have to put my ninja hat on! Over the years I've been called a wedding photographer G.I jane, a ninja, a photography ninja and many more!

Are pets or dogs welcome during our wedding photography?
Animals and dogs are always welcome at weddings that I am covering, after all, they're part of the family too! Please just let me know if pets will be there so that I can wear appropriate camera straps and bring the right gear to cover them at your special day! I'm a lifetime dog owner and I've been photographing dogs since I started working with dogs them over 12 years ago!

Do you offer smoke bombs for creative wedding photos?
I absolutely do and I love sparklers and smoke bombs!! The more notice you give me before the wedding that you'd like these, the more chance that I have of getting them here before your wedding day so please let me know when booking, or as soon as you can!

What's your wedding photography shooting style?
I work in a documentary, candid and natural style with the occasional bit of posing thrown in where it's needed or wanted, or where it's purposeful to get a particular creative shot that I'm visualizing. Wedding photography is all about creating memories - it's about recording moments of genuine emotion that really convey the feeling of that moment so that you can cherish that image for a lifetime. No one wants to look at an image that was so posed that they were actually angry behind the smile! I use very expensive equipment to enable me to turn on a dime to record a perfect memory for you to look back on for many years to come. My wedding photography shooting style is relaxed and candid - I like to use genuine emotion and feeling to convey and record each memory. There are no set routines, no repeats of someone elses wedding day, each wedding gets me, in the moment capturing each love story as it unfolds in a unique and creative way.

Will each image have some genuine meaning behind it?
Wedding photography is about so much more than just taking photographs - it's art - but art where you have to think on the spot instantly to see it, capture it and perfectly record it. This is what professional top grade equipment with serious speed and a lifetime of experience has done for me as this doesn't come naturally. I feel that as a wedding photographer you really have to capture and convey the feeling within each moment to create something more than just a wedding photograph, and you have to do so in a genuine and authentic way without faking moments or resorting to cheesy poses. I like each image to portray the genuine emotion of each moment and that means real moments, genuine reactions and true emotion! I love to capture the candid moments - the party shots, the glitzy shots, the glamorous shots, the raucous laughter, the natural smiles, the group hugs, the happy tears and everything in-between is captured and recorded beautifully to ensure that your wedding photography truly reflects your wedding day! Being able to be quick and capturing moments instantly as they unfold is also about the equipment that you use and I've invested heavily in a specialist low lighting camera that is widely regarded as one of, if not the very best in the world for weddings. I also use an industry leading wedding lens to enable me to get that crystal clarity that you could never achieve with a camera phone.

Do you hand edit the wedding photographs or do you use Instagram filters or cheap overseas editing companies?
All my wedding photographs are fully hand edited in house using the best photography software available to professionals, mostly Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom - using up to date and current versions with the best wedding editing capabilities to ensure your special day is as glamorous as you are! All wedding albums are fully edited without any outsourcing to cheap overseas companies who don't know what you want from your wedding photographer as that completely goes against my morals and beliefs as a candid documentary style photographer. I cannot and will not ever let anyone edit one of my photographs - that is my art and if I ever hear of photographers doing that, I will remove them from my friend circle. It's not acceptable. To be one of the best wedding photographers around our local area, I guarantee that all images are edited in house by myself. I have a degree in creative photo editing and over ten years experience hand editing photos to ensure that you get the best wedding photography album possible from your special day. I use specialist professional software that's unavailable to the general public without paying for a monthly subscription - what I'm doing to your images is a lot more complicated than face tune or the camera app photo editor on your mobile.

How are your photographs different to what anyone can do for free on a mobile phone?
Professional photographers cameras create images using something called RAW files which are unable to be viewed or opened on a phone or PC without specialist software to encode it into a photograph. This is to ensure that the images contain details and data that aren't available using phone cameras or consumer cameras, enabling photographers to tweak and edit the photos in a way that you'd never be able to do with a standard camera, giving us far more creative control and much better quality and better low light performance. The depth and the colour information in a RAW file is unique - your mobile phone would never be capable of taking anything close to this quality, and if it did, the storage on your phone would fill up within a few minutes and your battery would die not too much longer after. The professional camera I use is around 8kg and roughly the size of half of my head! When my flash gun is attached (like your phone flash but actually a car Zenon headlamp) its longer than my head. Your phone camera's hardware is around the size of your little finger nail and the software is limited to taking "just add water" JPEG's that cannot compete with RAW bit depth, quality, detail and information for the PC to render as size - this is why you can blow up my images to a billboard size when they're processed as such but your phone could never do that without it turning into a blur. The specialist wedding photographer software that I use renders the RAW professional files from an un-openable digital file into a printable, usable Jpeg photograph that you can view on your mobile phone or computer. Digital RAW files are similar to old school film cameras in the way that they need to be processed before use, the difference being that they have millions times more information in them that can be manipulated on a computer - think Kardashians and how they can manipulate their images and look that good - you can't re-create that on your phone. Professional wedding cameras take the scene in as digital information - 1's and 0's - sent to the cameras sensor by pressing the shutter button and then the camera sends those 1's and 0's into a file RAW full of that data information, the list of 1's and 0's, then to turn that list of numbers into an actual photograph it requires specialist software to even read that RAW file, to open it, view it, edit it, retouch it, process it and super sample it into a high resolution digital photograph suitable for printing. It's a long process with several steps that takes a fair bit of time per image.

How do you edit the wedding photos?
I start by colour grading the image using professional photography software and I then adjust the tone curves. Once this is done, I adjust the image levels, image brightness, image contrast and image sharpness. I then go through the colour correction by each individual hue of colour, then I hand draw localised adjustments using a brush to enhance and spot correct each image. Any focal distortion from wide angle lenses is repaired, vignette is removed, moiré is corrected, chromatic aberration is fixed and noise is treated and corrected. I then look at shadows, highlights, whites and blacks, adjusting as needed to keep a consistent creative style throughout the wedding album, then I look at the clarity, texture, vibrancy' and saturation and I tweak until each image meets my exacting standards. To ensure that I offer the best wedding photography albums each image has to go through this painstaking process to give them the glamour and creative style that I'm so well known for. The vast majority of your wedding package fees are to cover the time editing in the office as the day itself is only a tiny portion of the work that goes into photographing a wedding as a professional. The shooting time on the day is only a small portion of the fee that I take for your wedding photography booking. It's a labour that I do with love - it's one of my very favourite things to do in the world and I really enjoy my days in the office editing all your beautiful wedding photos; my poor partner struggles to get me to leave because I can't put it down. My superpower is that I freeze time and create beautiful memories. Some might call that art!?

Do you beauty retouch wedding photos?
Wedding photography may start with the camera on your wedding day, but it certainly ends on the PC in the digital dark room. Once the photography processing is started and my first draft of editing is done, I start with full natural beauty retouching - I gently whiten teeth if it's needed but I don't ever go unnatural with that. You will barely notice it - it's usually only needed where the light has caught someone's teeth badly and they've reflected a yellowish light, causing them to look worse than they are in the other images or in real life. If needed for the same reason I brighten eyes, enhance cosmetics, fix blown highlights, mask up and adjust individual components of the image to adjust exposure or clarity, adjust hair colour or tone if there is a colour cast, fix colour casts, then I then start work on the spot healing brush, touch ups with a brush and retouching with brushes and masks. At this point during the wedding photography process, the photo album is nearly ready and the final work begins. After this, minor tweaks are made until each image is ready to be added to the final wedding album - exciting! This process is repeated for the entire album, taking an average of 30-60 minutes per photograph until the final wedding album stands up to my rigorous creative standards and has been processed into a folder ready for you to download from the cloud.

How many images do I get with my wedding photography package?
I don't put any sort of limits on the number of images for full priced wedding photography so you will get all the great images from the day, including the sparkly party shots, the candid natural shots, the laughs, the tears and everything in-between! The only things that I delete are blinkers, yawners or bad poses where it may be embarrassing for the subject within the image. The average Norfolk wedding photography album comes out between 400-1250 average, depending on how long your wedding is and what happens on the day.

Do we get prints with our wedding package?
All my full priced wedding packages come with a USB album, prints and large prints. I also offer printed products that aren't included within the package, so if you'd like to add a canvas print to the base wedding package rather than opting for the top tier package to ensure your wedding day is more affordable then contact me for a special quote and a potential discount when purchasing more than one extra from the Norfolk Print Shop.

Can we get a discount on our wedding photography package?
I do tailor packages around your day and your budget, but I don't offer flat out discounts. To reduce the price I start removing things from the packages to keep the costs down as I already keep my prices as low as I possibly can whilst keeping the studio lights on so that I can edit and offering clients highly competitive print products and photobooks to ensure that I offer some of the best wedding photography deals around Norfolk & Suffolk and beyond. I dare you to find a better package for the experience that I have, products that I provide with each wedding package and the calibre of work that I produce. I know that's a no and my inbox has never said otherwise yet, in fact, my clients constantly tell me how great my packages are! To help with tighter budgets, I do offer one, two or three part payments for no extra cost.

Are you insured as a wedding photography business?
I am fully insured with public liability insurance for everything that I do. I also have my wedding photography gear insured with a professional grade insurer who offers complete breakdown like for like replacement hire cover and emergency hire cover. I'm even covered with full breakdown cover for my car and hire car replacement, so no matter what it is that breaks, it hopefully shouldn't impact your special day. I also take several lenses and camera bodies with me to weddings to ensure that if something breaks down midway through the wedding day, I have full replacement gear with me so I can continue shooting your wedding photography without losing half of your photograph album - that's one of the bonuses to having a professional attend your special day!

Are you registered?
I'm fully registered and a full tax paying UK business with all required insurances to be in the industry as a wedding photographer performing at your wedding venue including churches, registry offices, hotels, halls, houses, private homes and all other wedding venues around Norwich, Norfolk, Suffolk, East Anglia and beyond.

How long have you been a wedding photographer?
My first gig as a professional photographer was in 2015, but my first gig as a wedding photographer was in 2016 and I've been shooting them ever since! I'm now up to almost seven years as a professional full time photographer and counting!

Are you a full time professional photographer or do you have another job?
I do not do any other type of paid work other than photography - I am a full time professional. I do wedding photography, lifestyle photography and other types of photography. This is my only source of income and I've now been a full time photographer since 2015. During the weeks when I'm not a wedding photographer, I offer several different types of outdoor photography. I also own a Norfolk photography studio where I see families, babies, newborns, maternity and so much more. Are you qualified as a wedding photographer?
I have two degrees in photography - a professional photography degree which taught me how to professionally use a DSLR camera, and I have another more niche second degree in professional photography editing which taught me how to expertly edit RAW photographs and to naturally beauty retouch to enhance your wedding images. Once I had completed my photography degrees, I went on to do a more niche course in wedding photography so that I could specialize in wedding photography itself! This triple threat has enabled me to really delve into the creative world of wedding photography and it has helped me to become a real specialist in luxury and creative wedding photography over the last seven years.

What achievements have you amassed in your career as a wedding photographer?
Since starting my wedding photography career, I've been published over 40 times and I'm an award winning and internationally published professional photographer whose critically acclaimed and featured by several large companies including the BBC, the EDP, the Guardian, the Times, Bride Magazine, Let's Get Weddy, Good to Know, Wedding Espresso, Wedding Planner and more! I regularly get approached by magazines and the media to publish works and I'm lucky enough to have been invited to be a guest author for photography websites and I get the occasional invite to do wedding podcasts. It's a busy life! I've had quite the experience in my seven years and I'm excited to see what the future holds for my wedding photography business. I offer 6x4 prints, large prints, canvas prints, acrylic prints, posters, cards and so much more! I also offer USB drives with all wedding packages to ensure that as well as your printed extras, you have a hard copy of your wedding photos to store somewhere safe! How do I book you for my wedding photography?
Simply get in touch through the website, WhatsApp, Facebook or give me a call on 07771778118 and we can discuss the next steps to booking in your special day. After an initial discussion about the needs of your wedding photography, I take a booking & admin fee to get you booked into the system. Once this fee is paid, the date is marked as yours unless you fail to pay the rest of your fees. The photography & editing fee itself isn't due until 6 weeks before the big day, giving you a chance to spread the payment of your wedding photography and preventing you from having to pay for it all at once!

How do we book our free engagement photo session?
To book your engagement photo shoot, please contact me to check available dates and to discuss locations. These free sessions are subject to availability and are time limited to ten minutes and are limited to three images included for free. This can be upgraded to a full hour session with more images for a fee. These must be claimed 3 months prior to the wedding to qualify and there is no monetary value to exchange or refund if you do not redeem it in time. These must be done on a weekday and travel fees will apply outside of my home territory.

Can we have our engagement photo shoot session at your Norfolk Photography Studio?
If you love the look of professional photography studio images with the polished look and the professional backdrop, you can of course have your engagement photo shoot at my photography studio for an additional fee to cover the studio session

Do you post wedding photography images online and on social media?
All weddings are kept on file to post in my portfolio, online and on social media as advertisements and this is written into each wedding contract and worked into the wedding photography package pricing. The package prices on this page are worked out on a usage agreement to use the images in my portfolio, I don't normally take on weddings where the clients don't want the images posted online. If you're against this and you'd like to discuss a wedding without online usage, please contact me for a custom quote to include purchasing the whole copyright for each image and adjusting the package pricing.

What do you post online?
I post a small selection of the images to show the future clients - I never post embarrassing moments or bad poses, I try to treat each client how I'd like to be treated myself during my own wedding photography experience and I always ask myself " Would I be happy if that was posted online?" before I put images into my portfolio.

What printed items do you offer with wedding packages?
I offer USB drive albums, printed albums, photobooks, 6x4 prints, 7x5 prints, canvas prints and many more printed items that can be found at my Norfolk Print Shop online. Some wedding packages include printed items, USB and canvas prints within the price, but cheaper packages often come with less printed items to compensate for the price drop in the wedding package. If you would like to order printed items that don't come with your wedding photography package, please browse the shop for some of the currently available items that you can purchase after paying for your wedding photography package.

What are the print order terms and conditions?
To ensure that you pay the price that you were quoted, print orders do have a deadline to prevent the prices fluctuating at the supplier level that have to be passed on to the client. This is also to ensure that no one has to wait longer than they should have for their album or prints as all clients are in a que. Print orders all come with a deadline date - you must get your order in by the date given upon delivery of the proof album and the order must be put in in the correct format. Written lists of file numbers will not be accepted unless you have paid for the personalised print picking service. If you miss this date there are late payment fees to cover the extra expenses incurred after expiry. You must also cover any increases in the cost price of the prints, delivery or other services required to produce and deliver your late order. Late orders will lose their place in the que once the deadline has passed and will be put onto a no rush service to prevent other clients orders being bumped down the que for no fault of their own and to prevent your printed items going up in price before you order them as no one likes a suprise bill - to guarantee your quoted price you must get your printed items in before the deadline as prices do fluctuate with suppliers - especially in this current war, post brexit & post pandemic cost of living crisis. I cannot guarantee any prices for prints once your deadline has expired.

Do you offer a USB with wedding packages?
All of my full day wedding photography packages come with a USB drive album which includes full sized high quality professional sized photos in full professional quality at 300dpi which is perfect for printing and more can be purchased separately.

Can we get prints done with someone else or are we tied to your prints for life?
You can absolutely get your wedding prints done with other companies and I do not ever stop my clients getting their own wedding prints made. I do not believe in tying your clients down to your prints in a ploy to get more cash from them later on so all of my wedding photography packages come with full printing rights for life as standard for no extra charge.

Other photographers don't offer that, why do you?
I believe that being a wedding photographer is about more than just making profit so I do not impose these sorts of rules on my clients. I offer after sales of prints and printed goods but I do not restrict my clients to only purchasing their wedding prints through my Norfolk Print & Canvas Shop and my wedding clients are encouraged to shop around when purchasing printed goods or albums. I do not rely on print sales to make a living and I do not need to upsell my wedding photography packages to pay the bills! I believe as a wedding photographer that the images you deliver after the wedding should belong to the client to print for life once they've paid for them Please note that this does not include commercial printing rights of your wedding photographs - this means that I do not allow businesses or individuals to use the wedding photographs in a commercial way to advertise their business without obtaining my prior written consent - this does not affect your rights to print them personally to use in your home. I do sometimes charge for commercial rights depending on the usage - please ask any vendors to get in touch with me for further information.

Do you use cheesy posing methods?
I do not! I try my absolute hardest to capture real and natural moments and to ensure that I work in a natural way. You can see more about how I work behind the scenes here, here and here.

Should we do documentary style guest shots or do we need a list?
That depends on what you prefer - lists can end up getting very long when you have to agonise over them for weeks before the wedding, however, on the flip side of the coin you can potentially end up forgetting something if you don't have a list. I personally really like it when people go with the documentary style as it's very relaxed and laid back on the day and it leads to a little more variation when guests get spontaneous and there's creativity from both myself and your guests - however - I am comfortable working either way! Variety is the spice of life, right?

Can the guest shots be documentary?
Kind of - we can do it in a very laid back fashion with no written lists if you like but you will still have to organise people into groups and there will be a certain degree of posing involved to fit everyone in. Documentary style coverage of your group shots is when the bride and groom will simply call up the family and friends that they want in the images on the spot rather than working from a list - this can be a great tool to combat relatives asking for several different poses of each family group as when a few relatives know that you're writing a list, many will decide that they want some groups of their own and they soon add up to a huge chunk of your wedding reception, leaving your guests potentially feeling a little frustrated, hungry and tired of standing and waiting for their turn in high heels. If you have a very large family and you are concerned you may forget someone, it can be a great tool to use a list.How do we organise group shots? As a general rule of thumb each guest group shot needs around 5 minutes to setup and take and the time it takes for each shot can be extremely exaggerated when the guests start to wander off to the bar or the toilets as you can end up stuck with Great Grandma stuck on the spot waiting for your Cousin to come back from the loo because she's too scared to go and sit down. Great Grandma may not get back up again! As a pro tip, ask guests to go to the loo before we start if they need to as this will minimise any groups taking longer than planned.

How do we avoid our wedding group shots overrunning?
Guests need to be organised and in one place to be quick and efficient with group shots so it's a great idea to ask people to stay put whilst they wait. The next step is to order the shot list as efficiently as possible so that the groups flow from one to another allowing people to leave once their bits are done and dispersing the waiting crowd with each completed group. It's a great idea to ask guests to go to the toilet beforehand if they may not last however long you've pencilled in for your group shots during the wedding reception. We want to make sure that Great Grandma does all of her photos in one block - one after the other - so that she can go and sit down straight away when the images are taken that include her, whilst we continue with the rest of the group shots and slowly sending more people back to sit down. This way she and the rest of your beloved won't end up standing around for 45 minutes whilst we wrangle guests from the bar for group shots. This can be a great way to minimise guest frustrations and to prevent ill or elderly guests standing around for long periods of time. Take it from me - it's my job to circle around the room which means that I get to hear all the little comments that are said amongst private conversations, and the elder generations really resent the guest shots. They will often even directly complain to me about whoever held them up or went missing and caused them to have to stand around! Remember your elderly relatives - they hate waiting and will be hungry, thirsty and need the loo by that point in the day so it can be great to get their images done quickly so that they can go and sit down in the reception room. This is particularly important in the cold or the wind so be prepared to switch list orders around on the day if needed or if relatives or guests start complaining at you.

How do we manage the children in our wedding group shot list?
Children, bless their little hearts, can get very fed up with waiting, standing or bad weather very quickly during wedding group shots so this age group is another one to get photographed very early on in the list so that they can go and play, but remember that this includes their parents attending the wedding too so you need to make sure they're done equally as quickly unless you're providing a creche area. Crying children fighting in the corner also tends to slow things down and can cause tension on faces of the parents if their kids are crying so it's another great reason to get them out of the way quickly. The children will also look much better in the images if we get them in before they get so fed up that they start crying - needless to say!! As much as we love our kids, we don't love pictures of them crying! Organisation goes a long way when dealing with very large lists so always try to think about ages when organising your groups to flow seamlessly. If you don't know what I mean when I say flow, read up one question!

What methods do you accept to pay for wedding photography?
I accept bank transfer or cash. To keep prices down as much as possible across my packages for everyone, I do not use these third party payment methods. Cheques are not accepted due to the lack of bank branches - it's unfortunately a 22 mile trip to my closest business bank as branches keep being closed.

Can I spread the payments of my wedding photography package to make it more affordable?
I offer a one, two or three part payment system as standard so that when booking your wedding photography date, you only have to pay the initial booking & admin fees to cover the work behind the scenes before your special day and you have time to save for the rest later on. Once the initial wedding booking and admin fee is paid, the final balance for your wedding package isn't due until closer to the wedding day itself, but if you'd like to split that payment into three or four, a full payment plan can be setup for you so that you can spread the payments around for your wedding photography package. I am proud to offer affordable wedding photography packages with wedding payment plans to ensure that your wedding day is affordable and accessible. I believe that the best wedding photography shouldn't be inaccessible to everyone and that luxury doesn't equal expensive! Will The Images Stay Beautiful As They Age?
All of my images are full professional sized and come in 300dpi print grade quality and are up sampled to provide maximum quality. The images are expertly edited using photoshop with carefully applied hand editing techniques that take an average of 60 minutes per image that are designed to maintain the pristine quality over long periods of time without JPEG degradation from Instagram filter style "lazy" edits that destroy the pixel makeup of the images and remove details and sharpness, preventing them from ever being edited again when technology improves!
